Richard and Sally Verkuylen have planted 2 ha of shiraz on the flats of Bullock Creek on the outskirts of Bendigo. The vines are very low-yielding, and the wine is entirely estate- grown, hand-picked and made onsite. At any given point, up to three vintages are available at thoroughly old-fashioned prices.
