Leo and Isobel Gold planted 2 ha of cabernet sauvignon and 0.8 ha of chardonnay in the spring of 1998, leading to the first vintage in ’01. The winemaking techniques are traditional: small vat fermentation, minimum time in oak and minimal filtration. The Pinot Noir comes from the Quarry Vineyard at Waurn Ponds, the Shiraz from Sutherlands Creek Vineyard.
