Gus del Rio, of Spanish heritage, established a vineyard in 1996 on the slopes of Mt Anakie, northwest of Geelong (chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, shiraz, merlot and marsanne). The vines are hand-pruned, the fruit hand-picked and the wines are made onsite in the fully equipped winery, which includes a bottling and labelling line, able to process over 150 tonnes. Exports to China.

The del Rios vineyard and winery is situated on the steep sloping, north-westerly aspect of Mt Anakie on the outermost edge of the Moorabool valley, and enjoys a continental climate which helps to provide prolonged ripening conditions. The wines produced here are as rich as the volcanic soil in which the grapes are grown. 17 hectares of the 139 hectare property are planted to cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and marsanne. The vines are tended by hand from pruning to harvest. A fully equipped and modern winery on site completes the picture. This labour of love and family commitment to their passion produces a premium range of low yield, beautifully crafted wines.
