Craig and Sandra Aitken acquired their farm property at Barfold in the southwestern corner of the Heathcote wine region, a cooler portion of the region producing spicy characters in shiraz, and currently being mooted by local winemakers as a future Redesdale subregion that will encompass Barfold, Redesdale, Metcalfe and Mia Mia. So far they have planted 3.8 ha of shiraz and 0.4 ha of cabernet sauvignon.
