Gayle and Jim Hardie have established 12 ha of gewurztraminer, chardonnay, pinot gris, pinot noir and pinot meunier in their Whitlands vineyard. Jim Hardie has had a long and high-profile career in viticulture and in viticultural research, and the choice of the varieties planted in this high altitude vineyard reflects that knowledge. Winemaker Howard Anderson, too, has many years under his belt as a winemaker in various parts of Vic.
