Peter Read and his family were veterans of the King Valley, commencing the development of their vineyard in 1981 to supply Brown Brothers. As a result of extensive trips to both Western and Eastern Europe, Peter embarked on an ambitious project to trial a series of grape varieties little known in this country. The process of evaluation and experimentation produced a number of wines of great interest and no less merit. In 2005 Rachel Miranda (wife of Sam Miranda), with parents Peter and Suzanne Evans, purchased the business, and keeps its identity intact and separate from the Sam Miranda brand. Exports to China.
