Anne Hillier and late husband Michael (Mick) Withers purchased Yass Valley Wines in 1991 from founder Peter Griffiths, subsequently rehabilitating the then rundown vineyards and extending the plantings (merlot, shiraz, barbera, chardonnay, verdelho, gewurztraminer and semillon). -JAMES HALLIDAY
