Briar Ridge Vineyard

New South Wales | Hunter Valley

Our Review

Semillon and shiraz have been the most consistent performers. Underlying the suitability of these varieties to the Hunter Valley, Briar Ridge has been a model of stability, and has the comfort of substantial estate vineyards from which it is able to select the best grapes. It also has not hesitated to venture into other regions, notably Orange. Alex Beckett has taken over winemaking duties from Gwyn Olsen (Gwyn remains as a consultant). Exports to the UK, Europe and Canada.

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Mount View, Briar Ridge is an iconic vineyard producing classic Hunter Valley styles. A microclimate slightly different to the rest of the valley adds to Briar Ridge’s uniqueness, producing fruit of incredible intensity and distinctive character.

Gwyneth Olsen (named Gourmet Traveller WINE's 2014 Young Winemaker of the Year) works her magic as Head Winemaker and is passionate about producing estate grown Hunter wines for the Briar Ridge range. The Briar Ridge range includes both classic and contemporary wines, with something sure to please every palate!
