Comyns & Co

The stars came into alignment for Scott Comyns in '18. Having left Pepper Tree Wines in a state of glory at the end of ’15, he went out on his own, establishing Comyns & Co with nothing other than his experience as a winemaker for 17 vintages in the Hunter Valley to sustain him. Then Andrew Thomas founded Thomas Wines in the region and Scott joined him as a full-time winemaker, leaving Comyns & Co as a side activity. That has now all changed, as Missy and Scott have opened a 7-days-a-week cellar door in the Peppers Creek Village, Scott having quit his winemaking role at Thomas Wines. -JAMES HALLIDAY
