Mistletoe Wines

New South Wales | Hunter Valley

James' Review

Mistletoe Wines, owned by Ken and Gwen Sloan, can trace its history back to 1909, when a vineyard was planted on what was then called Mistletoe Farm, before disappearing. The Sloans have long since created a winery business here to stay. Ken and Gwen still live at the winery, Ken working 7 days a week with no intention of retiring. Son Robert is the viticulturist and assistant winemaker, daughter Cassandra runs the cellar door with Gwen, granddaughter Jessica is studying wine science at CSU and assists in the cellar door and the winery, and youngest granddaughter Natane, who says she's nearly 15, assists in the cellar by cleaning glasses, packing boxes, and runs a weekend child minding service for parents wishing to enjoy a tasting without being hassled by the kids. The quality and consistency of these wines is irreproachable, as is their price.
