Craigmoor | Montrose

New South Wales | Mudgee

Our Review

Established in 1858, Craigmoor is Mudgee’s oldest vineyard and winery. The Oatley family has long owned vineyards in Mudgee and in '06 they acquired the Montrose winery and the Craigmoor cellar door and restaurant. Montrose was established in '74 by Carlo Salteri and Franco Belgiorno-Nettis, Italian engineers with a love of fine wine. Coincidentally they were friends of the Oatleys – the 2 families developing their Montrose and Rosemount wineries almost simultaneously. The cellar door is 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Mudgee, surrounded by picturesque vines and gum trees on the banks of Eurunderee Creek. See the Robert Oatley Vineyards entry for Craigmoor and Montrose tasting notes. -JAMES HALLIDAY
