New South Wales | Mudgee

James' Review

Gerald and Kay Norton-Knight have shiraz and cabernet sauvignon established on what is truly a unique site in Mudgee. Many vignerons like to think that their vineyard has special qualities, but in this instance the belief is well based. It is situated in a small valley, with unusual red basalt over a quartz gravel structure, encouraging deep root growth, making the use of water far less critical than normal. Tim Stevens of Huntington Estate has purchased some of the ample production, and makes the Rosby wines.
