Our Review
Deakin Estate is owned by the Wingara Wine Group, in turn owned by Freixenet of Spain. Winemaker Frank Newman has had a long and varied career, starting at Penfolds working alongside Max Schubert, then Angove (for more than a decade) and BRL Hardy at Renmano. The very large production, with an enlarged range of brands, is only part of the story: with other labels produced at the estate, the annual crush of 2500t for Deakin is doubled, as is the production of bottled wines under those other labels. Deakin Estate's extensive range of varietal wines at $10 all offer excellent value for money. Exports to all major markets. -JAMES HALLIDAY
Specialities
Generously flavoured and styled for relaxed everyday enjoyment, the wines from Deakin Estate offer great variety to suit all tastes. The range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Moscato, Shiraz, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The Deakin label reflects the importance of the Murray River in nurturing our vines.
