Like others before him, Matt Eades embarked on a career in insurance and law, but the lure of wine was too strong to be held at bay. It all began in 1997 with his first visit to a nearby wine region. In 2009 he enrolled in the Charles Sturt oenology degree, graduating in ’13. His first vintage was in the Yarra Valley in ’10, making his first wines from Beechworth shiraz in ’12 and ’13. Together with wife Katie, he has adopted Orange as their principal home base.
