Elio and Marie Alban have registered the name Australian Old Vine Wine Pty Ltd for their business, designed to draw attention to their 7.6ha of 50-year-old shiraz and 2.8ha of 40-year-old cabernet sauvignon. Wines coming from the younger plantings (merlot, semillon, colombard and chambourcin) are released under the Australian Sovereign label. Ultimately, the plan is to buy grapes from old vineyards in the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale for an Old Vine blend. Exports to Ireland, Germany, Russia and Poland.
