Griff and Rosie Cupitt run a combined winery and restaurant complex, taking full advantage of the location on the south coast of NSW. Rosie studied oenology at CSU and has more than a decade of vintage experience, taking in France and Italy; she also happens to be the Shoalhaven representative for Slow Food International. The Cupitts have 3ha of vines centred on sauvignon blanc and semillon, and also buy viognier and shiraz from Tumbarumba, shiraz, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc from the Southern Highlands, and verdelho from Canowindra (Cowra). Rosie has been joined in the winery by sons Wally and Tom.
The wines made at Cupitt’s have a very strong old world quality with the wine-making influenced by traditional French and Italian methods.
A focus is made on creating wines with structure, complexity and intensity which respect their varietal characteristics and directly representing the region in which they are grown. The Cupitt Family craft their wines from Estate grown grapes along with grapes sourced from NSW wine regions of Hilltops, Tumarumba, Orange and Canberra District. An emphasis is made on sourcing fruit from premium cool climate vineyards and respecting the varietal and regional characteristics of the grapes.
Rosie Cupitt has passed on the wine-making duties to her sons Wally and Tom both of whom have had vintage experience in France and Australia. The boys continue Rosie’s passion for making wines of character, complexity, purity and intensity using minimal interference, making wine that is heavily influenced by traditional French and Italian methods.

Step inside the Cupitt’s Winery cellar door and you know you’re in for a special experience. Housed inside an historic stone creamery, which dates back to 1851, the cellar door is open for wine tastings 7 days, 10am to 5pm, with extended opening hours during public holidays.
Try our boutique wines and allow yourself to be tempted by the range of morsels on offer: a cheeseboard, ploughman’s platter, marinated olives or Cornish scones. Take your time…
The Cellar Door also operates as an art gallery, and private function room for those extra-special occasions.
We also run Winery Tours Daily.
Open 7 days 10am - 5pm
There is nothing like a long lunch at a restaurant surrounded by green rolling hills, blue skies and great service. Or a special dinner for two, or four, or twelve, or more, featuring great food, great wine and great conversation.
Our award-winning Cupitt’s Kitchen offers seasonal food with traditional French and English influences. We use fresh local produce and follow the philosophies of the Slow Food Movement, believing that dining should be a source of pleasure. Rosie Cupitt is the Leader for Slow Food Shoalhaven.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Cupitt’s Winery, and combines rustic stone walls with contemporary design for a comfortable, sophisticated dining experience.
We take food and wine very seriously, so that you can relax, exhale and enjoy.
