Cherry Tree Hill

New South Wales | Southern Highlands

James' Review

The Lorentz family, then headed by Gabi Lorentz, began the establishment of the Cherry Tree Hill vineyard in 2000 with the planting of cabernet sauvignon and riesling. Merlot and sauvignon blanc followed in '01; and, finally chardonnay in '02. Gabi's inspiration was childhood trips on a horse and cart through his grandfather's vineyard in Hungary. Gabi's son David is now the owner and manager of the business. Exports to China.

Cherry Tree Hill is a boutique single vineyard owned and run by the Lorentz family. They have been producing award winning premium cool climate wines since their first vintage in 2004. There are three vineyard sites on the property that were planted in 2000 comprising riesling, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, pinot meunier, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The cellar door is open 7 days a week located on the Hume Highway in Sutton Forest.
