This is the nascent business of Michael and Jill Bynon. Michael has been in the wine industry in one role or another for 30 years, attending Roseworthy Agricultural College and moving from a marketing career to join the senior corporate ranks. Most impressive of all is that he has passed the Master of Wine tasting examination. Jill was a linguist and marketing professional, fluent in French, having spent much time in France before moving to Australia from her native Scotland in 2003. It was here that she met Michael, and having bought a bush block and erected a small house, they planted 0.5ha each of shiraz and tempranillo in ’18. They also purchase grapes from high-altitude vineyards comparable to that of their own, which is at 600m.
The essence of Corang Estate is about celebrating the unique wine flavours and cool climate styles of the NSW Southern Tablelands. Our regional selection showcases fine examples of the wines this area has to offer, which in time will be complemented by our own estate-grown Shiraz and Tempranillo.
