Our Review

The owners of Byron & Harold make a formidable partnership, covering every aspect of winemaking, sales, marketing, business management and administration. Paul Byron and Ralph (Harold) Dunning together have more than 65 years of experience in the Australian wine trade, working at top levels for some of the most admired wineries and wine distribution companies. Andrew Lane worked for 20 years in the tourism industry, including in a senior role with Tourism Australia, leading to the formation of the Wine Tourism Export Council. More recently he developed the family vineyard (Wandering Lane). Exports to the UK, Canada, China and NZ.

TWO LOVERS OF WINE, ONE FROM THE WEST AND ONE FROM THE EAST, DETERMINED TO FIND, PACKAGE AND PRESENT THE WINE THEY LOVE IN THE WAY THEY LOVE IT. One with the surname Byron, the other with the given name Harold; two gentlemen, really, in the true sense of the word, but with a secret admiration for the 19th century English poet who in his day was regarded as ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know.’ With more than a lifetime of combined experience in the Australian wine trade, Paul Byron and Harold (Ralph) Dunning seek out those parcels of wine that they believe Australian wine lovers really want to drink. Wines with flavour, wines that are true to their variety – wines with provenance.
