The definitive guide to Australian Wines
Penfolds is one of Australia's most acclaimed wineries, with a presence both at home and abroad. The South Australian winery is best known for its iconic Penfolds Grange, but it has other well-loved wines that include the Penfolds Bin 389, the Penfolds Bin 8 and the Penfolds Bin 28. It has two homes – one in the Barossa Valley, the other its Magill Estate near Adelaide. Find out all you need to know about Penfolds with the articles ahead.
The annual Penfolds Collection is due for release on Thursday, October 19. The 2013 Grange marks the 63rd consecutive release of this iconic wine and follows the much-celebrated 2012 vintage.
"The 10 vintages of Penfolds Grange that follow are my personal favourites," says James. "In reading my notes, it is vital to remember the old English wine trade saying, “There are no great old wines, only great old bottles.”
