Continuing a 5-generation family winemaking tradition, Hamish and Kate Laurie created their first wine (Pinot Noir) from the 30yo Laurie family-owned vineyard on Deviation Road in 2002. In ’04 Hamish and Kate purchased their property at Longwood, which is the current home to 4ha of shiraz and pinot noir, the winery and tasting room. Disgorging equipment from Kate’s family’s Manjimup winery, originally imported from Champagne, was shipped to the Adelaide Hills in ’08 enabling the first Deviation Road traditional method sparkling wine release. Hamish and Kate consistently produce wines that represent the cool-climate terroir of the Adelaide Hills. Exports to the UK, the US and Hong Kong.
