The Griffin family planted 27ha of pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and shiraz in 1997, having owned the property since 1973. Situated 3km from Kuitpo Hall, its 350m elevation gives sweeping views over the valley below and ideal cool climate conditions. Now owned by the second generation of the Griffin family, Tim, a Mechatronic Engineer, and Fiona, a Climate Change and Sustainability consultant, have enlisted Darryl Catlin’s help to craft their Shiraz from grapes grown on their vineyard. They endeavour to create wines that do justice to the land and will become a legacy for their three children Georgia, Natalie and Nina to enjoy in the future.
