Karrawatta

South Australia | Adelaide Hills

Our Review

Mark Gilbert is the great-great-great-grandson of Joseph Gilbert, who established the Pewsey Vale vineyard and winery in 1847. Joseph Gilbert had named the property Karrawatta, but adopted Pewsey Vale after losing the toss of a coin with his neighbour. The Karrawatta of today has 12.43ha of vines in the Adelaide Hills, 38.07ha in Langhorne Creek and 8.75ha in McLaren Vale. The vineyards are all hand-pruned, the small batch wines fashioned with minimum intervention. Exports to the US, Canada and Hong Kong.

About

Sixth-generation winemaker Mark Gilbert produces single vineyard wines from his

vines and classic Australian bush. Guests can enjoy tailored wine tastings, guided
