Longview Vineyard

South Australia | Adelaide Hills

James' Review

With a lifelong involvement in wine and hospitality, the Saturno family are now approaching their 10th vintage at the helm of Longview. With a focus on the 63ha vineyard, recent plantings of barbera, gruner veltliner, new clones of chardonnay and pinot grigio add to significant holdings of 20-year-old shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, nebbiolo and sauvignon blanc. Winemaking is overseen by Ben Glaetzer, in close consultation with Peter and Mark Saturno. A new cellar door and kitchen was unveiled in 2017, adding to 12 accommodation suites, a popular function room and unique food and wine events on the vineyard. In 10 years, this 100% family-owned, estate-grown producer has gone from two markets to selling in more than 17 countries.

Longview is a stunning, family-owned Adelaide Hills single vineyard located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield. Set on undulating slopes reminiscent of old world estates but with a clear Australian accent, it has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards in the region since its first vintage in 2001. Operations are overseen by brothers Mark and Peter Saturno, along with a small but specialised team. They ensure the vineyard is fastidiously managed to produce the finest fruit for their premium estate grown wines and provide a wine tourism experience that has placed Longview in the South Australian Tourism 'Hall of Fame'.
