Manyara Wines

South Australia | Adelaide Hills

Our Review

Manyara Wines, a family-owned and -operated vineyard and winery, was established on fertile land once used to breed and train thoroughbred race horses. The altitude of the Adelaide Hills brings low night-time temperatures and rainfall, and both have a positive influence on grape growing. Simon Roe grew up among vineyards in the Riverland, his grandfather, Jack Neilson, was a winemaker at Hardys. Contemplating a return to Australia after 20 years in South East Asia, Simon and wife Melissa knew they had found their future at Manyara, which they purchased in Aug '14. The vines on the property were planted in 1994, and are carefully hand-tended to make the single-vineyard wines. Exports to Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar. -JAMES HALLIDAY
