Edilillie

South Australia | Clare Valley

Our Review

David and Heather Cook have 8ha of vines (5ha of shiraz and 3ha of cabernet sauvignon) planted with a morning-sun aspect in the Skillogalee/Sevenhill area of the Clare Valley. The vines were established between 1980 and '89 and acquired by the Cooks in 2001. In '13 David started making small batches of wine, winemaking now on a commercial scale by Michael Corbett. The Cook family lives on the property and are involved throughout the year in the care of the vineyards from picking to pruning. ‘Edilillie' is an Aboriginal word meaning two hills and a water source, and ‘sums up the vineyard'. -JAMES HALLIDAY
