Our Review
Brothers Richard and Malcolm Leask started Hither & Yon in 2012, the Old Jarvie label added in ’16. The grapes are sourced from 78ha of family vineyards at seven sites scattered around McLaren Vale. Currently there are 20 varieties, with more to come. Richard manages the vineyards and makes the wine, while Malcolm runs the business. The historic, tiny cellar door in Willunga has a vintage feel with a café and music events. The Hither & Yon labels feature the brand's ampersand, with a different artist creating the artwork for each wine. Old Jarvie (www.oldjarvie.com.au) focuses on blends. Exports to Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, NZ, the UK and Canada.
About
The Leask family of McLaren Vale has been growing grapes and making wine for many quality wine labels in McLaren Vale / Barossa Valley / Hunter Valley for over 40 years.
We have a large quality vineyard portfolio; which offers a range of site, variety, and style to choose from. Each vintage, Hither & Yon selects the most interesting parcels for our own family range of premium wines.
The vineyards are all managed with passion by the Leask family, using sustainable farming principles including grazing our Black Angus cattle. Our philosophy is to trust the vineyard environment and improve our land for the next generation. In the winery we allow the fruit from the vineyard to shine to produce pure wines with great drinkability with food.
We hope you enjoy the journey with us by sharing our wine with food & friends, whether you’re at hearth & home or hither & yon.
Cheers, The Brothers Leask.
