Proprietor Jarrad White established Jarressa Estate in 2007, taking its name from his childhood home of broadacre cropping and stud cattle at Kadina, north of Adelaide. He is now a 20+-vintage veteran of the wine community, with 10 years working for Penfolds in both Australia and California. Jarressa was initially a hobby venture, making wine to be sold to family and friends, but changed shape after a Chinese-based wine importer shared a bottle of Jarressa. A joint venture was formed, Jarrad making the wine and Li Hui responsible for sales and marketing. It took another significant step with the acquisition of the 5ha Cape Barren Vineyard, prior to this time the wines were made from purchased fruit. Exports to Vanuatu and China.
