After 20 years of working for other wine companies, big and small, interstate and international, Andy Coppard and Angela Townsend say, ‘We've climbed on top of the dog kennel, tied a cape around our necks, held our breaths, and jumped.' And if you are curious about the name (as I was), the story has overtones of James Joyce's stream of consciousness mental rambles.
The overarching idea behind our range of wines is using grape varieties we find intriguing, interesting and drinkable. We make wines stylistically to complement the food we like to eat.
We want our wines to be approachable, medium bodied, structural with loads of texture and have a sense of place given that they are predominantly single vineyard wines.
Great care is taken to work with people who have grown the best climate appropriate variety for their vineyards. The vineyards are predominantly farmed using organic or biodynamic principles and practices.
