Our Review
Yet another venture by Canadian-born and raised (but long-term McLaren Vale resident) Norm Doole (in partnership with Mike Farmilo and Nick Whiteway). A grapegrower for decades, Norm founded DOWIE DOOLE with Drew Dowie in 1995. Monterra, under the wine banner of Field Day, has been a centre of activity in McLaren Vale in recent years. It flew under the radar when established in 2014, busy with barrel finance and logistics and Norm Doole’s mind-spinning roles with the Willunga Basin Water Company, Southern Adelaide Economic Development Board and Boar’s Rock. Wines are made from the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Fleurieu Peninsula. Exports to the US, China, Hong Kong, Thaliand and Singapore. -JAMES HALLIDAY
