South Australia | McLaren Vale

Our Review

The Ponting label falls under the aegis of Three Kings Wine Merchants, a collaboration between winemaker Ben Riggs and the former Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting. A tensile Chardonnay and a soon-to-be-released Pinot Noir, hewn of cooler-climate Tasmanian fruit as an homage to the cricketing Taswegian’s involvement, are exceptions to the South Australian sourcing pervasive across the lineup: an Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, a McLaren Vale Shiraz, a Langhorne Creek Cabernet and at the pointy end, the Ponting 366 cuvée, a blend of Shiraz from the Vale and Cabernet from Coonawarra.
