The Shirvington family began the development of their McLaren Vale vineyards in 1996 under the direction of viticulturist Peter Bolte and now have almost 24ha under vine, the majority to shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, with small additional plantings of grenache and mataro. A substantial part of the production is sold as grapes, the best reserved for the Shirvington wines. Exports to the UK and US.
Shirvington's vineyards are located in the McLaren Vale region of South Australia. Viticuluralist Peter Bolte, has been involved in the wine industry since 1977 with his family farming in the region since 1840. His care and expertise have provided the brand with consist high quality since the very first vintage in 1999. Turning the grapes into awarded wines is a science. Making these wines special is an art. Shirvington's consummate artist is known as Kim Jackson, with her knowledge and influences extending from vintages in the Sonoma Valley in California to Nuit St George in Burgundy.
