Lyall and Cynthia Schulz have an organically managed vineyard near Maitland, on the western side of the Yorke Peninsula, planted to chardonnay, viognier, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon. This was, and remains, the first commercial vineyard and winery established on the traditional barley belt of the Yorke Peninsula. In 2015 Colin Sheppard, owner/winemaker at Flaxman Wines in the Eden Valley, came onboard as winemaker. He is not only a winemaker with a 5 red star rating in this Companion, but also made it to the top 10 of Masterchef '14. The wines are made onsite; there are also facilities to cater for concerts or festivals, and tours by arrangement.
