Barringwood has been producing elegant wines from the ultra-cool climate of northwest Tasmania for over 20 years, the vines planted in 1993. The vineyard is perched on a steep north-facing slope (overlooking the Don valley across to Bass Strait), with one of the longest growing seasons in Tasmania allowing the grapes time to develop complexity while retaining acidity. Vanessa and Neil Bagot were captivated by the property and purchased Barringwood in 2012. They have developed two new vineyards at Cranbrook and Evandale, with further plantings planned.
Barringwood vineyard is located on a steep north facing slope over looking the Don Valley in Tasmania’s North West. Established in 1993 the 4 hectare vineyard rises to an elevation of 280m and has a long mild growing season.
