Goaty Hill Wines

Tasmania | Northern Tasmania

James' Review

Kristine Grant, Markus Maislinger and Natasha and Tony Nieuwhof are close friends from two families who moved from Victoria to make wine in the pristine climate of the Tamar Valley. Most of the estate-grown grapes are made into the Goaty Hill brand, although 40% is sold for sparkling base wine. There aren't any goats on the property, but there is, according to the owners, a friendly collection of children and dogs. The vineyard, at 160m above sea level, is free from frost, and is now over 20 years old.
