Our Review
Jansz is part of Hill-Smith Family Vineyards and was one of the early sparkling wine labels in Tasmania, stemming from a short-lived relationship between Heemskerk and Louis Roederer. Its 15ha of chardonnay, 12ha of pinot noir and 3ha of pinot meunier correspond almost exactly to the blend composition of the Jansz wines. It is the only Tasmanian winery entirely devoted to the production of sparkling wine (although the small amount of Dalrymple Estate wines is also made here), which is of high quality. Part of the former Frogmore Creek Vineyard purchased by Hill-Smith Family Vineyards in December 2012 is dedicated to the needs of Jansz Tasmania. Exports to all major markets.
About
Established in 1986, Jansz Tasmania specializes in crafting luxury sparkling wines from Tasmania. Australian owned by the Hill-Smith family since 1998, the vineyard was named Jansz Tasmania, paying homage to Abel Janszoon Tasman who first sighted the island in 1642. Proudly Tasmanian.
