Tamar Ridge | Pirie

Tasmania | Northern Tasmania

James' Review

In August 2010 Brown Brothers purchased Tamar Ridge from Gunns Limited for $32.5 million. While Dr Andrew Pirie has retired from his former position of CEO and chief winemaker, he points out that the end of his five-year tenure happened to coincide with the acquisition. Tasmania is the one region of Australia with demand for grapes and wine exceeding supply. Tamar Ridge was well managed during the seven years it was owned by Gunns, avoiding the financial meltdown of Gunns. Exports to all major markets.
