When Kate Hill (and husband Charles) came to Tasmania in 2006, Kate had worked as a winemaker in Australia and overseas for 10 years. Kate’s wines are made from grapes from a number of vineyards across southern Tasmania, the aim being to produce approachable, delicate wines. Exports to Singapore.
Kate Hill came to Tasmania in 2006 to fulfill her ambition of making some of Australia’s best, world class, cool climate wines .
For more than twelve years Kate has been making wine in some of the world’s prime wine-making regions including South Australia, France, California and Chile. She was an executive winemaker with Orlando Wyndham for four years at their Riverina Winery and has a number of gold medal wines to her credit. Kate’s experience in Tasmania includes working with Stefano Lubiana Wines and work with contract winemaker Winemaking Tasmania. She has now embarked as an independent winemaker.
Having made her new home in Tasmania, Kate is now expanding her business. She began by producing a Riesling and Pinot Noir but her range will expand to include a sparkling Pinot-Chardonnay and a Cabernet Merlot.
