Our Review

Shy Susan (Tetratheca gunnii) is a critically endangered wildflower endemic to a tiny part of Tasmania. Her survival depends completely on a little native bee, who alone is capable of pollination. Their fate is forever entwined. Glenn James worked with Tasmanian fruit for nearly 2 decades before producing the unique Shy Susan range from some of Tasmania’s most exciting vineyards. Glenn relocated to the Alpine Valleys in ’20; that vintage was wiped out by bushfires and ’21 is his first vintage produced from the Alpine Valleys. Partner Jo Marsh is the owner and winemaker of Billy Button Wines (see separate entry) and Shy Susan shares its Bright and Myrtleford cellar doors. -JAMES HALLIDAY
