Sinclair of Scotsburn

Victoria | Ballarat

James' Review

David and (the late) Barbara Sinclair purchased their property in 2001. At that time 1.2ha of chardonnay and 0.8ha of pinot noir had been planted, but had struggled, the pinot noir yielding less than 0.25 tonnes in '02. With the aid of limited drip irrigation, cane pruning, low crop levels and bird netting, limited quantities of high quality chardonnay and pinot have since been produced. Two-thirds of the annual production is sold to Tomboy Hill and Provenance Wines, the remaining third made for the Sinclair of Scotsburn label.
