Our Review
Dominic and Krystina Morris both have strong winemaking backgrounds gained in Australia, France and Portugal, where Dominic worked alternate vintages from 1995 to 2012. They have established 5.5ha of shiraz, 2ha each of tempranillo and cabernet sauvignon, and a little malbec at Bridgewater on Loddon in Central Victoria. They are also establishing a cool climate vineyard at Bambra in the Otways (primarily MV6 pinot noir, with some 667 and 115 clones). Incidentally, the illustration on the Pondalowie label is not a piece of barbed wire, but a very abstract representation of the winery kelpie dog. Exports to Hong Kong and Japan.

The husband and wife team of Dominic and Krystina Morris draw on their vast winemaking experiences from France, Portugal and Australia to produce premium red wines from mainstream and alternative grape varieties, sourced from their own Bendigo vineyards, and from friends’ vineyards in Heathcote.
Awarded a five star rating by James Halliday in 2006/7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14/15/16, the Pondalowie wines are some of the Bendigo region’s, indeed Australia’s, finest red wines.
