Arnie and Jo Pizzini’s substantial vineyards in the Cheshunt and Whitfield areas of the upper King Valley have been planted to riesling, chardonnay, pinot gris, merlot, barbera, sagrantino, marzemino, arneis, prosecco, fiano, petit manseng, tempranillo, sangiovese and nebbiolo. The La Zona range ties in the Italian heritage of the Pizzinis and is part of the intense interest in all things Italian. In January 2016 the Chrismont Cellar Door, Restaurant and Larder was opened. A feature is the ‘floating’ deck over the vineyard, which can seat up to 150 people and has floor-to-ceiling glass looking out over the Black Ranges and King Valley landscape. Exports to the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
Located in the upper reaches of King Valley, the Chrismont Cellar Door, Restaurant and Larder is a culinary centrepiece celebrating contemporary winemaking and authentic Italian dining.
Since the first Chrismont vine was planted in 1980, owners Arnie and Jo have become known for producing diverse interpretations of Mediterranean and classic European varietals from their cool-climate vineyards in Cheshunt and Whitfield.
Like grapes and wine, hospitality is also in their blood, which inspired the 2015 opening of a state-of-the-art wine and food centerpiece that combines the flavours of their Sicilian and northern Italian heritages with their contemporary Chrismont, La Zona and Riserva wines.
Winner of the coveted National Building Design of the Year Award 2016, visitors will appreciate its contemporary interior and sleek architecure that captures unparalleled views of the King Valley. From it’s elevated position visitors feel as though they are floating above the vines, providing a magnificent backdrop and inviting space for visitors to indulge in and relax over casual dining or special occasions such as weddings or group celebrations.
Chrismont also features elegant Guest House accommodation set amongst the vines, making it an idyllic place to restore, relax and rejuvenate.
