The definitive guide to Australian Wines
Arnie and Jo Pizzini's substantial vineyards in the Cheshunt and Whitfield areas of the upper King Valley have been planted to riesling, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, shiraz, barbera, sagrantino, marzemino and arneis. The La Zona range ties in the Italian heritage of the Pizzinis and is part of the intense interest in all things Italian. It also produces a Prosecco, contract-grown in the King Valley. In January '16 the Chrismont Cellar Door, Restaurant and Larder was opened. As well as a 7-day cellar door, the new development can seat up to 300 guests, and is designed to host weddings, corporate events, business conferences and group celebrations. A feature is the ?floating' deck over the vineyard, which can seat up to 150 people and has floor-to-ceiling glass looking out over the Black Ranges and King Valley landscape. Exports to the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
