Having notched up a winemaking career spanning over 55 years, including a stint at Seppelt (Great Western), Howard Anderson and family started their own winery, initially with a particular focus on sparkling wine but now extending across all table wine styles. Daughter Christobelle graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2003 with first-class honours, and has worked in Alsace, Champagne and Burgundy either side of joining her father full-time in ’05. The original estate plantings of shiraz, durif and petit verdot (6ha) have been expanded with tempranillo, saperavi, brown muscat, chenin blanc and viognier.
We are one of the smaller wineries in Rutherglen, but we boast a large range of wines. We have 8 different grape varieties in our vineyard, which is only 8.3 hectares in size!
Howard Anderson has over 50 years experience in the wine industry, including over 40 years making Sparkling wines. His daughter Christobelle studied winemaking in Adelaide and has worked in several wine regions in France.
Howard and Christobelle now work together and make all of our wines on site, in small, hand made batches (most of our wines are just 3 or 4 barrels worth).
