Our Review
Family-owned and run, Pfeiffer Wines occupies one of the historic wineries (built in 1880) that abound in Northeast Victoria, and which is worth a visit on this score alone. In 2012 Chris Pfeiffer was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his services to the wine industry. Both hitherto and into the future, Pfeiffer's Muscats, Topaques and other fortified wines are a key part of the business. The arrival of daughter Jen, by a somewhat circuitous and initially unplanned route, has dramatically lifted the quality of the table wines, led by the reds. Chris Pfeiffer celebrated his 40th vintage in '13, having well and truly set the scene for supremely gifted daughter Jen to assume the chief winemaking role in due course. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Singapore and China.
