Our Review
John Travassaros remembers helping his grandfather make wine in Kithra, Greece when he (John) was a young boy. When he came to Australia, John planted 50 vines on the hills of Toolern Vale, hoping one day to create a fully functional vineyard and winery. His dream is now a reality, having established a little over 20ha of vines (in descending order of size: merlot, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir). The winery that enabled the next step to be taken was constructed in 2005; the pricing of the wines the icing on the cake (for his clientele). This business is no longer operating. -JAMES HALLIDAY
