Dominique Portet

Dominique Portet was one of the first Flying Winemakers, commuting to Clos du Val in the Napa Valley. He then spent more than 20 years as managing director of Taltarni and Clover Hill. He then moved to the Yarra Valley planting cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, merlot, malbec, cabernet franc and petit verdot. Son Ben is now executive winemaker, Dominique consultant and brand marketer. Ben himself has a winemaking CV of awesome scope, covering all parts of France, South Africa, California and 4 vintages at Petaluma. -JAMES HALLIDAY
