Our Review
Rob Dolan has been making wine in the Yarra Valley for over 30 years and knows its every nook and cranny. In 2011 he was able to purchase the Hardys Yarra Burn winery at an enticing price. It is singularly well equipped and, in addition to making the excellent Rob Dolan wines there, he conducts an extensive contract winemaking business. Business is booming, production having doubled, with exports driving much of the increase. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
About
Rob Dolan has been a Yarra Valley winemaker for over 20 years and is recognized as one of the great characters of the wine industry. Rob has an outstanding winemaking record and has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the Yarra Valley.
His first experience in the Yarra Valley was as senior winemaker at Yarra Ridge winery, one of the success stories of the 90’s being the benchmark Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of their time.
Rob went on to launch two more successful Yarra Valley brands – Sticks and Punt Road (“Sticks” being Rob’s nickname as a premiership ruck man with Port Adelaide Football Club but don’t hold that against him!).
2012 saw the release of the first Rob Dolan wines crafted from fruit grown by friends and grape growers who have supported him throughout his time in the Yarra Valley.
