Nestled in the southern hills of the Yarra Valley, Six Acres boutique winery and vineyard is owned and worked by the Zuccaro Family. Planted in 1999 by Ralph and Lesley Zuccaro, the vineyard (pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and merlot) is dry grown in deep red volcanic soil, yields kept low to encourage balance and concentration within the grapes. Currently biologically farmed, the family's goal is to move towards organic/sustainable grape-growing. The small size of the property means that the whole family is involved in the minimal intervention winemaking process. A visit to Six Acres will likely involve being greeted by a Zuccaro family member as they emerge from the rows of vines or from the barrel shed.
