One of many labels under the Joval Wine Group, headed by John Valmorbida, with a strong link to the Australian food-and-wine scene thanks to his Italian family heritage. The Valmorbida family is behind a host of successful enterprises including wine distribution, importing Italian comestibles, retail and of course their own wine labels. The Sticks brand is all about offering entry-level yet fresh and simple everyday wines sourced from Yarra Valley floor sites at Coldstream, Dixon’s Creek and Yarra Glen. The core comprises pinot grigio, chardonnay, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon. In 2019, Anthony Fikkers took over as chief winemaker. Exports to Hong Kong, the UK and the US. -JANE FAULKNER
