Yeringberg

Victoria | Yarra Valley

Our Review

A 19th century Yarra Valley pioneer, Yeringberg’s renaissance began when the 3rd generation wine grower, Guill and Katherine de Pury began replanting vines in 1969, making their first commercial wine in ’74. Since ’08, the wines have been made by daughter Sandra while her brother, David, who has a PhD in plant physiology, manages the vineyards and Yeringberg's grass-fed lamb and cattle. Committed to the future, a new winery is in design phase and a new vine program began in ’20 to mitigate against climate change and phylloxera, establishing 2 new vineyard sites on south- and east-facing slopes. The future could not be more exciting for one of the Yarra’s oldest and most important producers. Exports to the UK, the US, Switzerland and Hong Kong. -PHILIP RICH
